SMAfrica for Innovations Company Limited by Guarantee (“SMAfrica”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This notice explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you use smafrica.org and related digital services operated by SMAfrica.
Who we are

Information we collect
- Contact and partnership forms: name, email, organization, phone, subject, and message.
- Volunteer applications: name, email, phone, location, skills, CV/documents you upload, and code-of-conduct acceptance.
- Career and event applications: application details and supporting files you submit.
- Newsletter: email and optional name.
- Technical data: language preference (locale cookie/session), basic server logs, and security-related request metadata.
How we use information
- Respond to inquiries and route partnership messages to the partnerships team.
- Review volunteer, career, and event applications and communicate status updates.
- Send newsletter updates when you subscribe.
- Operate, secure, and improve the website (including bilingual EN/AR experience).
- Meet legal, safeguarding, and accountability obligations.
Legal bases
Where applicable, we process personal data based on your consent (for example newsletter signup or optional CV upload), our legitimate interests in operating an NGO website and responding to requests, and/or steps needed before entering a volunteering or employment relationship.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We may share information with authorized SMAfrica staff and role-based administrators, trusted service providers (for example email delivery or hosting) under appropriate agreements, and authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Cookies and locale
We use a locale cookie/session to remember English or Arabic preference and may use essential technical storage for theme preference and security. We do not use advertising trackers on the public site by default.
Retention
We retain inquiries, applications, and related records for as long as needed to respond, administer programs, meet safeguarding and audit requirements, and comply with law, then delete or anonymize them where practicable.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal data, or withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. Contact info@smafrica.org.
Children and safeguarding
Our public forms are intended for adults and organizational contacts. Safeguarding concerns involving children or vulnerable adults should be reported through SMAfrica’s authorized channels.
